This is a full bodied merlot from Quady with a tongue in cheek name that translates as “This is not a barrel of merlot”. This dark red has a wonderful nose of smoky braised meat, caramel, charcoal and earth. The plate shows a full bodied fruit forward wine which is bold and sweet with an acidic layered middle and long tannic finish. It won our 3 merlot blind tasting today and will be a welcome addition to the Oregon Wine Geeks Buyer’s Guide.
