2009 Troon Vineyard old vine Meritage

> Lookup on Cellar Tracker

We had the 2007 version of this wine at 38 Central with one of their great burgers.  We're back to day for a homage of that tasting with the 2009 vintage. It has a dark garnet color that is opaque and appears quite rich.  The nose is subtle with dark fruit, cab franc florals, white pepper and anise.  The mouth feel is a medium body with a good fruit then acid and a layered middle.  The finish is long and tannic.  Very enjoyable on its own but really shines with food, a whole other level is achieved.

Score: 90
Cost: $ 32
Wine Type: Red Blend, Southern Oregon, Rogue Valley, Applegate Valley
