Friday, August 10, 20122007 Pirouette Red Wine
This wine is a very dark ruby, opaque and lovely in the
glass. The bouquet is dark black fruit,
floral hints, black olives, and pencil
shavings. The nose is wonderful and
complex with the many varietal types showing through. The mouth feel is full bodied with a lovely
layered fruit beginning and middle. The
wine is well balanced with sweetness to acid and has a lovely tannin on the
finish which is long and lasting. This
is a well-made higher alcohol wine but the heat does not take away from the
general pleasure this wine provides. At
5 years old now it could easily go 5 more years and get better and better.
